Careers Guidance
Careers Information Education Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) at Elthorne:
Ms. A. Crix is our Assistant Head with responsibility for Personal Development and CEIAG. She has an abundance of knowledge, advice and connections to help guide you as your consider your options for the future. We aim for all students to achieve personal and academic excellence. We succeed in this by placing equal emphasis on developing students’ character and potential. The EPHS Careers Education Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) programme is an important aspect of delivering on this promise. It provides our pupils with the opportunity to plan for and manage their career pathways effectively, ensuring progression which is ambitious and aspirational. It promotes equality of opportunity, celebrates diversity and challenges stereotypes.
The EPHS careers programme is measured against the Gatsby Benchmarks.
- : The eight Gatsby Benchmarks of Good Career Guidance are:
1. A stable careers programme
2. Learning from career and labour market information
3. Addressing the needs of each pupil
4. Linking curriculum learning to careers
5. Encounters with employers and employees
6. Experiences of workplaces
7. Encounters with further and higher education
8. Personal guidance
Audits are carried out each half term to ensure that our provision is in line with pupil needs and our EDT (The Educational Development Trust) partners support us with using the results of these audits to update our offer on a regular basis. We take detailed feedback from students and employers who take part in CEIAG events and use this feedback to review and develop the programme.
