Responsible to

Site Manager

Purpose of Role

To be responsible for all aspects of site management including a wide range of duties and responsibilities connected with the fabric and grounds of Elthorne Park High School and Oaklands Primary school. This includes security, cleanliness, porterage, monitoring contracts/contractors, routine maintenance and refurbishment, minor repairs, advising on the suggested improvements to the general school environment, and to carry out pre-planned maintenance programmes.

General Responsibilities

  • To ensure that the maintenance of the school buildings and environment are effectively undertaken
  • To be responsible for the health & safety of the site
  • To undertake repairs and DIY projects
  • To delegate tasks as appropriately defined by the Site Manager to outside contractors, ensuring Health & Safety regulations are strictly adhered to.
  • To monitor the performance of the cleaning contractor and liaise with the contract manager to ensure clean the school environment is tidy and well maintained.

Purpose of Role

  • To work as a member of the school's pastoral team to support students' welfare and safety, and to identify and address barriers to learning and encourage academic progress
  • To mentor students with behaviour and attendance concerns and those who are academically under-performing.
  • To support the running of the school’s on-call process and internal suspension and reflection rooms and study spaces.
  • To liaise closely with the Year Leader to provide appropriate interventions for students with identified needs
  • To investigate and resolve behaviour issues during the school day
  • To establish and maintain close contact with parents in order to address academic underperformance, attendance, behaviour or other specific issues affecting student progress and well-being.
  • To communicate with professionals and outside agencies to provide support for students and their families as required
